φωτοερμηνευτικές μελέτες

Photo interpretation is the art of examination of objects in photomaps, aiming to recognize them and estimate their size. Such study can answer, for a specific area and for a specific date or periods in time, questions such as:

· The existence or not of streets, paths, buildings or other constructions.
· The type of vegetation or type of plants existing on a plot of land.
· The geomorphology and other natural or artificially constructed ground level
· A definition of the seashore (including the winter-wave lines) and definition of water streams.
· The geological character of a region.

Our office can assist you with photo interpretations of property used in legal disputes, affairs of forest land inspection, additions and new constructions or illegally constructed residences, the definitions of streams and in general, any matter that can be ascertained by a Photo interpretation study of a photomap.

Air Photographs (or Aerial Photographs or 'Aerials ') of Greece exist for the following chronologies:
· Partial coverage of Greece in 1938.
· Complete coverage of Greece in 1945 and in 1960.
· Complete coverage for a number of years after 1970.

The Photomaps we use for our photo interpretation studies are original maps procured by the Geographic Service of the Greek Army, the MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT PLANNING AND PUBLIC WORKS and the Ministry of Agriculture.

For specific cases, it may also be possible for us to use satellite pictures from Spot and Landsat satellites. These however, give low precision (30x30 meters) and are useful for larger areas or constructions. Space Imaging has also recently started to make satellite pictures available (with 1x1 meter precision), making it possible to order photos for any specific date from 1999 onwards!

Our office is completely equipped for photo interpretation studies and can guarantee fast and correct results for any case that can be resolved through such a study.
